It's a different culture. Virginity is valued very highly in that culture, much more than in American and European society. And the 72 virgins is just a plus, its not really why they do it. They believe that they are a martyr for their religion and that they will be honored as a martyr in the afterlife. In addition to getting 72 virgins they also get to choose a certain number of people to join them in paradise after they die. I read an interview with a man who attempted a suicide bombing where the interviewer asked him how his family would feel about him doing this, and he said that it was ok because he would invite them to join him in the afterlife

I am male. I guarantee that 72 virgin Moslem women is the nightmare scenario.
Each hyper, easily offended, horny, jealous, yelling, and bullying. They live in the desert. The culture of the water deprived makes hygiene a secondary priority. The smell alone. No razors or shaving cream. Then, what do you do with the screaming spawn of 72 assembly line serviced ladies?
Nightmare. A good reason to stay alive until age 100 if that awaits in heaven.

What does the word virgin mean?
The Quran is written in arabic, not in english. so the actual word "virgin" is never mentioned in the Holy Quran. A word "Houris" from Quran is translated as virgin. There is no proper translation of the word "houris" in english. Some people have used it, which is completely wrong. The "houris" gender hasent been specified. so telling its a women is wrong. So sex isnt even considered.
Moreover, what does the reward of 72 houris mean?
It is the reward for the people who go to heaven. not as compared to " kill themselves & innocent people to have 72 virgins".

Personally, 72 virgins, or women of any degree of experience, is an overwhelmingly large number. It would make "The View" look like a Trappist Monastery.

Muslim men (according to all news reports articles and books and movies I have seen or read) are all rapists and pedophiles and all they think about is killing and sex with very young girls(hence the 72 virgins). In Muslim lands all the girls are raped by there thirteenth year so the are no unraped women for the men to have sex with.So they murder others with suicide bombs to get the virgins
who knows if its true but it seems to be from their actions and deeds

It is much more than that. It is one of the benefits of heaven. Life on earth means nothing and life is cheap. Some believe that martyrdom will set them free from life on earth so that they can enjoy the virgins and everything else in heaven.

In Muslim culture there isn't the dating and interaction with the opposite sex we have in the West so sexual tension becomes overwhelming. This is why death is attractive to them. In the west we don't have to die to have access to virgins.
