It can't be translated literally, it's an expression, that is close to "the point is" which is actually closer to the one we use in Spanish1, I'll give you two more that mean the same, and for more formal speech I would use 2 or 3:
1"El punto es"
2"El asunto es"
3"En conclusion" (accent on last "o")
