Is your hair weaker when it's wet?

Just wondering... my mom and I got into a huge argument about whether or not this is true. Thanks.

Yes, your hair is weaker when it is wet.
You shouldn't brush your hair when it's wet
due to the fact that the brush can and will
overstretch the hair shaft causing them to break.
Always use a wide toothed comb as it isn't
as harsh when unknotting the hair.

A good tip is to take a wide toothed comb into
the shower with you and use it to comb out
your knots whilst you still have conditioner in
your hair.

what do u mean that if hair is weaker when wet? I know it's easier to comb my hair when my hair is wet versus when it's dry.

I read in magazines that this statement is true because they always state not to comb your hair when you hair is wet because it's more likely to break!

it is very weak when its wet.. a peice of paper tears alot easier when wet right? so does your hair... so always comb your hair with a WIDE tooth comb when its wet.

i think so. i think that's why hair stylists cut it when it's wet. (don't take my word for it lol)
