it is hard to find quotes about death, but another idea would be to have a picture of something they loved and their name, or else you can put in loving memory.

my boyfrens best friend died, the friend was crazy over the DUKE team, my boyfriend didn't much care for them, but he is going to get a tattoo of the duke symbol, and have his friends name put with it. ......that could be another option if its to hard to find the right quote, or poem.

I love this question! I am a Christian, and I'm getting a tattoo to memorialize my son. It's taken me all year to figure out what I want to get tattoo'd. Here's what I've come to decide about God and Tattoos... The old Testament says no Tatts. That's kinda blunt. But since Christ we haven't been under the old testament law. There were LOTS of laws in there that because of Christ we no longer follow. What the new testament says is to ... well... not be flashy. We're modest and humble people. So perhaps having the F word tattoo'd to your forehead is not exactly the route to go. The objective is - to make a decision that you believe is pleasing to God. If you got a tattoo you wouldn't want your grandmother to know about then perhaps more thought should go into it. If your tatt is a symbol of your love for the loved on who passed and as a tribute - a thankfulness in your heart - for the time God gave you with that person - then I think, as a Christian, it's not "unholy". I love our "New Testament God" because he gives us the ability to decide for ourselves. He gives us free will and the ability to honor him, love him and praise him in our own ways. I'm getting a purple daylily on my leg as a memorial to my infant son. Not only because he died and certainly not because I think I'll forget about him if I don't permanently mark my skin, but because God gave a gift to me that was so precious, so beautiful, and even though we only had 2 hours to love him, that was the MOST intense feeling of love I have ever had, and because as he was dying, my husband and I felt God's grace and open arms in that hospital room with us... Long story short - It's the purpose. The new testament calls us to do all things in the Glory of God. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" 1 Cor 10:31 If it makes you feel any better, I know several die hard Christians who have at least 1 tattoo... usually one that can be covered when appropriate.

Look around and talk to a tattoo artist. There are plenty of quotes and they could help you figure out what will work tattoo wise as well as fit your intentions. Good luck with it!

I think if it is something you want, then go for it!!! My grandmother passed away and what I did was go to the cemetery and took a pic of her tombstone and had that tatted on my arm. With you wanting to get 2 different ppls names, that might be too much. You could get their names with angel wings coming out the sides of them. Or get a tat of something that each of them loved (their fav. flower, or a music note, something of that sort) with their name either over, under or above it.

Better ways instead of a tattoo: visit their graves at Christmas. Memorial Day, etc. and put some flowers there. Donate to a charity in their names.

Think long and hard about a tattoo, maybe a picture of them with you is a better idea. remember a tattoo is forever and you wont ever get it off unless you remove it, in that case it looks ugly.

I too want to get a tat in honor of a love one. I was thinking some Chinese lettering, and something spiritual.

tattoos are essentially visual.
I'd use their names, but skip the
quote for a picture that has meaning.
