I feel like I am losing my mind! I don't know how to put this, I am 30 years old and have suffered from depression, been put on an antidepressant... so you think things would be good right? There not! I think there are other things wrong! I mean I can't concentrate or even think straight, When I miss taking my medicine I feel very weird and become hostile... I never use to be this way! I have asked for someone to take me to a hospital for help, and they refuse to take me. I cry alot, I am just not liking this "new me" I am beginning to hate myself. Am I having a life crisis?? please help me!

I am not like this, I am a sweet person who loves to be around people!! I can't even do that because I am afraid I'll go off on one of my friends, even if they are joking around! I think my life is ruined!!! And I am begining to wonder if I just do away with myself that I wont hurt people anymore...I am SCARED!

First thing you have to do is see your Doc.
If you just started taking the antidepressant it may take awhile to start working. There may be a possibility that the dosage is too high and has to be lowered or too low and and the dosage needs to be higher.
Don't know is you are seeing your Family Doctor or not. If you are you might want to consider seeing a specialist in the field of mental illness. The specialist will monitor your meds and more closely.
You have to let them know exactally how you feel. You should know if the antidepressant starts working right away or does it take time to start working. If you think that there are other problems along with the depression you have to let them know this too.
Every ones body is different. You may have to change your antidepressant medication to a different one. You have a lot of unanswered questions and that's not the way it's suppose to be. If you have any questions at all you call your doctor as soon as possible.
You need to be very careful not to miss taking your meds. You found out the difference with that one.
I'm on ADD meds and mood stabilizers and believe me my doctor watches things very carefully. The mood stabilizers also have antidepressants in them.
At this point all I can say is call your doctor as soon as possible. Hope your doctor is a Mental Health Speciallist.
Make that appointment and don't wait a week to see your doctor. You make sure you get in the same day you call.
I respect your need to feel better and get back on your feet again.

I too, suffer from depression. Get help, now. You do not need to find a ride, call an ambulance. Maybe a new medication is all you need. Take it slow and hang in there. A new medication can take a few weeks to work and sometimes you even feel worse before you feel better. Are you seeing a counselor? If you aren't, I suggest that you do. They can be a great resource. Especially when you feel like you do right now. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is a medical condition. Taking an antidepressant for depression is no different than a Diabetic needing their insulin. Do not be ashamed, get help!

its ok, relax!
its very normal to have depression, i have it. i constantly think of certain things which im not going to get into because if you are as bad as me, the more bad thoughts you hear the worse your thoughts get right?
just take in a deep breath and clam down, think about life, and its precious, enjoy the moments you have here, and all your loved ones and just start to believe in god, because there is something else after life.
the more you pray he will help you and if you arent religious i can tell you a story, maybe it will comfort you
my friends cousin died of cancer, he was only 13. his mother told him , when he dies, please give a sign that there is something there, that hes ok.
then the very next day a flower bloomed in front of their house. this flower hasnt bloomed EVER and it did for a first time.
so think about all the cancer children and how much worse life can be. some thing in life you cant control and you must enjoy what you have here! there are people who care about you weather you know it or not! maybe you should even try to talkto one of them about this!
good luck and i hope evrything turns out well for you.

Have you ever thought that maybe it's what you are eating? If you are consuming white floured foods, they might be contributing to your mental fogginess. Eat veggies, fruits, protein and skip out on the sugar, cookies, cakes, etc. Exercise is also good. You might be surprised by a simple change in diet. Not only will it help with your weight (if you have an issue for that) but you will gain mental clarity. In time, you might be able to decrease your meds or stop taking them altogether.
Check out the website below and get their book. It saved and changed my life related to mental clarity and depression.

If you take anti depressants for awhile it can become like alcohol in which you feel like you need it to function. if there's anything that bothers you, talk about it. find out what it is.

There are a lot of different anti depressants out there. Talk to your psychiatrist and have him try you on something else.
