Okay, the Bible says a woman should submit to her husband. Meaning, that she submits but only in so much as it doesn't hurt her in anyway. Might pi*s you off at times, but mostly what it means to me is that men are suppose to be the "lead" for a lack of better word, in a relationship, which actually is fine with me.
But not very many men want to "be in charge", again for lack of a better statement. It's not meant to mean that you allow your husband to mistreat you in any way, shape or form and you are allowed to have your own opinion.
But these days, I think most men mean submit more of a sexual fantasy then anything. But again, not in a bad way, or it shouldn't be a bad way. It's would be a mutual understanding of what submit means to both of you. Like guys just want to be able to just come up behind their women and just ravage them, but in a purely loving way and with respect. It's just more of a mind game if they are talking about "submit" sexually.
But I could be totally wrong on all of it. It's just my opinion.

what a great question. My view is that there a two types of men. The first wants submission out of some sort of perceived right and possibly in the belief woman should just do what they're told. This is wrong, a bit old school and highly convenient for the man so they don't have to consider the woman's feelings and effectively live a single life, but with the benefits of marriage.
The second, may want a woman to submit to mean more that in the relationship they want to establish their position as a 'head' within the relationship. Traditionally men have filled the head role in a family and have a natural protector role in- built in them. For this to operate effectively the woman needs to ackowledge this headship with respect and support. This doesn't mean men do whatever they want, but more that they are respectful and consider both peoples needs in any given situation and get agreement to sensible decisions. Some times it may mean making an unpopular decisions and one that you don't both agree on (whether you think he's right or wrong).
The second is not easy and the first is more common in my opinion. This topic is very indepth.....

Being submissive is interpreted in many ways by many different people of all different beliefs. Some controlling men say it in a way of total submission: anything he says or wants she's to do. Others see it as a form of respect for the man being the bread winner or man of the house. Communication is first between any two people and a decision eventually has to be agreed on. Submit is another word for not pressing on and on, especially if one person feels very strong about something and the other doesn't, why not do what it is that really matters to the one feeling the pull.

Good question. I think you're going to get all kinds of answers, none of which are correct, because there isn't an answer. The work submit could be taken both positively or negatively. I'd like to believe the sayers intentions are positive. In such case, (at least if I said it) it would mean, accept me for who I am. I could also mean, open up yourself to me. On the negative side, this could mean succumb to me, or have a "do as I say" nuance. In any case, don't get caught up with words. Especially ones that are hard to understand.
Just so you know, I'd never ask a girl to submit to me. It's too vague. Men should be more straight forward.
Best wishes from Tokyo.

when a man says they want a woman to submit to them usually means they want all the power in the relationship. It's kind of like the way a parent would treat a 2 year old. This will leave you with no freedom. You do what he wants on his schedule. This type of relationship mainly leads to physical and mental abuse. It's unhealthy.
A healthy relationship allows both partners to contribute to the relationship.

I hear you, my parents divorced when i was in third grade, my dad was an abusive alcoholic. I have been unsuccessful in my relationships my whole life. I always seem to get stuck with the jerks. I often wonder if I am cursed! I'm trying to figure stuff out too so I can get a grip. I think it means to let the man take care of us in a good way like as in financially and emotionally and us to reciprocate by being nurturing to them (cooking for them, etc.) but not let men hit us, be jealous and suspicious all the time, causing fear, demean us, or make us feel bad about ourselves.

> when they say they want a woman to submit to them?
It means they want sex.
> how does a woman let a man be a man?
THAT is a wide-open question. Different men act different ways. Let your heart be your guide. If you don't like the way he treats you, WALK, and find someone else.

As a man, I think these men want to dominate their women.
Marriage is supposed to be a partnership, of mutual respect.
Sometimes, decisions must be made, despite disagreement.
Then one person has to let the other make the decision.
Usually, for the man that's issues of work & home location.
For the woman it's about issues of children & family.
But these traditional roles are changing rapidly today.

A man in this day and age should not want a woman to submit to him. They should be equal partners, compromising and problem solving using logic and reason, not fear and tears. Any man asking you to submit to him (unless you're into that kind of thing in bed) does not deserve any woman.

I think your smart enough to not allow yourself to be dominated by any man. He want to control you just like robot.
He want to know what you do, he may also beat you up for running around without his permission. we are in the 21 century to where most women that are educated, professional job do not need someone you tell you what to do or when to do it. be yourself and stay away from those types of freaks
