We should put missionaries in submarines to bring the word of God to those heathen dolphins.

Your assumptions for this question have some problems. First, how do you know that they don't? Second, why do you think they have the intelligence necessary to contemplate their existence and/or a high power? Third, are you joking about reading the Bible? Dolphins don't read, and you're assuming that the only way to have a belief in a higher power is by reading about it. Not all religious people who belief in Jesus as a personal savior have read the Bible. Also, and I hope I don't offend anyone, many religious people do not believe that animals have souls. Finally, I think a lot of non-Christians would be offended by the implication that one can only be intelligent by believing in Jesus. I know I am a little.

"Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much... the wheel, New York, wars, and so on, whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely the dolphins believed themselves to be more intelligent than man for precisely the same reasons." --hhgttg

dolphin is an animal, and if you did read the bible, you will know that salvation only apply to human being, not animal. beside, smartness and religious are two different thing, you can possibly combine them and discuss as an equal matter.

The bible clearly says that if the humans don't worship God that the rocks would cry out in their place. If the rocks know God, then I am sure that the animals do too!
