Finale always seems to be "on top" like Microsoft is above most applications. Sibelius is becoming more popular. Which is better and why? Which is easier to use? How? Do not include the Finale Notepad, because it's free.
My apologies if the section under Computers & Internet Software is confusing. I couldn't find a better category.

Why not download the demo /trial versions and give it a try and decide your self which you like better for your needs.

Other people's opinions may not be appropriate for your needs.

Finale 2008 seems to be a more mature product.

I've never used Sibelius. My university director loves Sibelius and he arranges most of our marching band music on Sibelius. I personally have only used Finale, and once I figured out how to use it (speedy-note entry), it's been easy for me. You could try the Sibelius website, they might have a free trial download for you to test out.
