You have to be willing to hear God. You cannot expect God to show himself if you are bad mouthing and making fun of him.
God chooses who he will show himself to and when he will show himself.
If you are truely looking for him I think he will come. It may take time. He comes when he wants to, not when you want him to.

If you are truly seeking God, then you will surely find Him. The first thing you must do is REPENT of all your sins. That means to turn away from them. Then, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that He came to earth and died and was resurrected, defeating death on the cross, so that we may have eternal life through Him. When you have repented, your heart will be softened, and you will be able to Accept Jesus into your heart. Live your life for His will, not your own, and you will be blessed with eternal life! I am so glad you are asking this. He stands at your heart's door and knocks. It is up to you to let Him in. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. If you have prayed this, then, you need to read His word. If you have a Bible, start reading in the Gospels. That is Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the New Testament. This is all about Jesus and who He is, so you may come to know Him. You can pray to God, through Jesus' name only. He is the only way to the Father. Stay in the word, and try to find a good Bible based Church to go to, so you can be with those who know the word, and can help you understand it. It's ok to read the word by yourself, but, you shouldn't try to rely on your own understanding. I will be praying for you. God Bless!!!

To be open-hearted, it means to be willing to serender to God. Be willing to hear God and not just wanting your way. It takes time to get there. Many Christians has had to go down that road. If you have the desire to hear from God that is what you need to get to hear from Him better. I would say go in prayer to Him with an open heart and allow Him to speak. He knows that it is something that can be challenging that is why He will speak to you in the way that you will know for fact that it is Him. God bless you. Just pray and He will hear and answer you.

By opening your heart they mean be willing to consider that the voices you hear in your head are not products of your own mind, but the voice of a supernatural being who's speaking directly to you. You should also be willing to consider that subjective emotional experiences aren't just products of your brain's chemistry, but also due to the influence of an invisible supernatural being. Seems pretty silly to me, too.

You must continue to pray, ask God to come into your heart and you'll be filled with the Holy Spirit (which is the spirit of God). The book of John tells us about God the father,Jesus the son, and his precious Holy Spirit

The best way for me to explain it is that: unlock the door that closes your heart and let God in. Slowly the more you accept God into your life the more the door opens to Him and the easier you able to listen to Him.

Leave your heart open to God and his spirit, read and study Gods word and meditate, think on things of God, ask him to speak to you he will, not always in the way you think, yet he will
