Ok I was a so called christian, i hung out with Christians only, they told me theyd always be there for me and wasnt when i stopped going to church what i noticed is that Christians want and think everyone should be a Christian and if someone isnt they are a sinner and the christians should pray for them. I am very open minded but after the experience i had with Christians ill never let my kids be influenced into religion or let them be told if they dont believe theyll go to hell. I feel hardcore christians brain wash people into believing what they do, i believe in freewill and if you brain wash someone you are scarring them away from the religion. I am so tired of Christians believing they can do no wrong and if you do something wrong God will forgive you, that maybe the case with God but in society if you steel someones car they arent going to forgive you. its like people are being brainwashed into doing mistakes because they know at the end of the day theyll be forgiven. If you think about fear is a way to control people and Christians get people to fear God and therefore the Christians have total control over these people. I was brainwashed into befriending someone i hated and didnt like because my so called Ex Christian friends told me it was right and i felt since they were in the religion longer that they were right. Think about when you were a child and since you feared your parents you didnt get into trouble a lot. Good luck and i know this has offended people but oh well its what i think good luck in your journeys and there is nothing wrong with having a opinion i swear you wont go to hell

Well first, you are confusing evangelical churches with "religion."
Second, it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't know what kind of weird world you live in, but I happily live out my life day to day without seeing the slightest inclination of people trying to convert me. Do you believe the fear that they utilize to convert you? Why should you? If not, then why is it a problem? People think for themselves, listen to what they want to listen to, and make their own decisions.

The problem lies not in the message, but in the delivery. We are admonished to be prepared to give an answer to those who ask us, not to beat strangers over the head with it. Those who beat people over the head with it send the message that Christianity is based in fear, and this couldn't be further from the truth. Christ died that we would have life to the fullest. Not so that we would live in fear. It kills me when well-meaning Christians go out and chase people away from the truth with their condemnations. Urgh!

Gee it is nice to have people looking out for you, but don't you think you should ask people if they want your care. Doing something just because you believe you are right isn't always good. Look at the damage done to the Native Americans in the name of Christian love and charity!
So please don't push your beliefs on me or my family!
Goddess bless you all!

Yes I'm sick of it. I don't go around trying to convert people and I wish they'd stop. That oh I'm saving you from hell is stupid. Oh and it pisses me off that they don't think their negativity towards Pagan beliefs make it hard for Pagan to actually be open about their spiritual beliefs.

You are wrong. We tell you about Hell, because it's the truth, and we are trying to save you from an eternity of torture. That's forever and ever, just in case that isn't clear. But, you have a choice. All we have to do is tell you about it. We don't have to "convert" you to anything. The rest is up to you, then it is in God's hands.

I'm also tired of churches who demonize my beliefs, making it hard for me to make an honest living if I even mention that I am of a minority religion......

I am. These people are fundamentalists or religious fanatics who have this "holier than thou" attitude which gets in your nerves. They always presume to know more about your religion than you do.
The posters above me confirm what I just said. And to add insult to injury they justify their stance by saying we don't want you to go to hell, which to my mind is a lot of ...
Are they our modern day Pharisees?

Yeah, I know we are so annoying!! Here we know that Hell awaits you for rejecting Jesus, and silly us, we are doing what He commands us to do, to go and spread the Gospel everywhere to everyone. Faith is not based on fear, my friend. Why don't you want a relationship w/Jesus? He died on the cross for you, suffered and was tormented, rejected by His own people, the Jews, yet loved you and me enough to go willingly to the cross. There, I go again, witnessing, silly me.

Jesus never told anyone to go to church, but churches are more than just houses of worship, they are also valuable community resources -- so don't be a hater
