I believe there is a god, but i dont agree with the views of any religions i have been aware of, how do i choose a religion if every other religion hates me for my beliefs.
God is in everything, and everywhere.
Churches are controlled by governments and god doesnt want you to be controlled by false authority.
I dont believe in jesus being the dude we all have to "accept in our hearts" sure he did some cool **** but how does what he did effect me? It doesnt, some dude got murdered on a cross by his kin. Jesus was jewish, he wasnt christians, why do you base your religion around that..

I may be bhuddist, im not sure, Why do the christians hate on bhudda when he is the brother of jesus?

Think about this before you answer i dont want to see you criticizing me for my beliefs.

No one needs religion. Do you realize that religions were fabricated to keep humans in a constant state of submission. Believe in yourself because... "The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people."

That quote comes from the stand up comic Bill Hicks.

Doesn't seem to be even close to ANY religion that I'm aware of. To answer you honestly (at the risk of it sounding like an insult), let me say that you sound very confused because NOT accepting Jesus into your heart conflicts w/ scriptural teachings. What He did affects your soul's salvation directly. Denying this will only insure that you'll never see God. Of course Jesus isn't a Christian -- He is the Christ. He's the Messiah that was promised by the Jewish faith. His "kin" didn't crucify Him -- the religious leaders of those days did, because His teachings went against the lies that they had been feeding people. And Bhudda wasn't His brother. Whomever has been supplying your spiritual education, should be ashamed of themselves. Find another source!

First of all, look at it this way. Buddhists and other religions are serving non-living gods. Christianity is the only religion with a true and living God. As for discerning between JW's, Methodists, Baptists, etc...you're gonna have to read the Bible and determine that yourself. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but rather have eternal life. Basement cat: How can you say everyone is correct? There is no such thing as absolute truth. How can one person be right and the other person wrong. When I say 2+2 is 4. It's 4! Just because my 5 year old nephew says the answer is 5 doesn't make us both correct! There has to be a right and wrong answer!

Well I would say you are spiritually still in the process of searching, though you could be considered a spiritually independent person who is not into organized religion.

In many but all aspects you remind me of myself. It was really hard to find a religious community I fit into as they were either too hooky anything goes or staunch and totally attached to there egoistic conception of spiritual reality.

Where I ended up is at Quaker Meeting. Not all Meetings are the same as some have a minister but most do not. Some are really conservative as this movement stemmed from Puritan backgrounds, which was daring and liberal at the time.

The Meeting house I go to is liberal enough that pretty much anyone is welcome. The essence of their beliefs is that anyone can hear the voice of God and interpret it for themselves.

An intermediary is not necessary. Different persons may come up with different conclusions but that is ok. The point is to listen in silence and when one is inspired or lead by the spirit one stands up and speaks.

The great thing about this format is that those who listen really listen and those who speak meditate in silence first feeling compelled and centered before doing so. It is a great way to raise ones awareness and to believe what ones finds out for ones self.

Though Quarkerism stems from a Christian tradition the format of having no clergy with a service worshiped in silence allows one to live out and share what one has found for ones self as well as at the same to having a community to nurture and support as well. You can share with you one another the various possibilities to ponder. I like it because it emphasizes independent critical thinking along with honing a higher awareness.

Try it out. You might find as I did you've found a home.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. Finding the right religion IS very confusing. I agree it isn't nice to be critisised for your beliefs. Yet, the question still remains; How do you find the right religion?

Most religions are intertwined with politics. This is not as the only true God had intended (James 1:27). Jesus withdrew when they tried to make him king (John 6:15). So clearly, the son of God didn't want to mix with politics.

You asked how Jesus affects your life. Well, of course, he doesn't do so in a direct way as he left the earth about 2000 years ago. Life appears to have gone on and on just as it has always done. "The soul that is sinning - it itself will die", states Ezekiel 18:4. What difference did Jesus make?
In John 18:36, Jesus says that he has a Kingdom in the Heavens. Why have a Kingdom if all its subjects die? You see, Jesus' sacrifice to die for us meant that we have the hope of becoming permanent subjects of that Kingdom. It's true though, this concept is based on hope and faith and it doesn't have any obvious effects on our lives each day. But this hope is very real and is reflected multiple times in the Bible.

I hope this has given you something to think about. I am not critisising you or your beliefs. Faith is a very personal thing and I admire your courage to express yourself the way you did! That was very brave.

You could be a Taoist, but you sound very eclectic, more western pantheist, and somewhat preoccupied with the Abrahamic religions. Uhm Gautama Buddha is unlikely to be Jesus' biological brother as he lived around 563 BCE to 483 BCE. Did you mean a later Buddha?

"What religion do you believe me to be?" You answered already "i dont agree with the views of any religions i have been aware of" therefore - you have no religion, at this time.

IF you want or need one - study; choose; live. May your Path be the one that makes you a better person, and may you and all beings achieve compassion and peace.

Jesus was Jewish, and modern day Jews are those who chose not to follow the messiah they were reading about in their religious teachings. Also, we do NOT believe that budda was the brother of Jesus- where did you get this? Religion is man-made. God just wants a relationship with His creation and he made a way for this through the sacrifice of Jesus (God cannot be in the presence of sin so he sent Christ do take on our sins on the cross so that through Christ we can be close to God) This is why it is necessary to accept Christ- there is no other way to the Father.

First, I do not base my believes around being "Christian" I base my believes on being a follower of Christ. Whether He was Jewish or not is not the point because what are Christians but Jews who have accepted Jesus as the savior?

If you're Buddhist you would know...and I do not like your generalizing about me hating Buddha because I don't he was a great teacher and a wise man, but I do not believe that religion to be true.

And I would only criticize you for your believes if you did it to me first(and even though you did, I still am not criticizing yours)

You could be a Hindu.

Hindus believe in a one, all-pervasive Supreme Being who is both immanent and transcendent, both Creator and Unmanifest Reality. God is a one being, yet we understand Him in three perfections: Absolute Reality, Pure Consciousness and Primal Soul. As Absolute Reality, God is unmanifest, unchanging and transcendent, the Self God, timeless, formless and spaceless. As Pure Consciousness, God is the manifest primal substance, pure divine love and light flowing through all form, existing everywhere in time and space as infinite intelligence and power.God is all and in all, great beyond our conception, a sacred mystery that can be known in direct communion.

Hinduism, the world’s oldest religion, has no beginning--it precedes recorded history. It has no human founder. It is a mystical religion, leading the devotee to personally experience the Truth within, finally reaching the pinnacle of consciousness where man and God are one.

Sounds like you are a lot like my dad. He believes there is a higher power that we will all answer to but as far as Jesus being the Christ/Messiah/Savior of the world, he doesn't believe. He believes he was a good man and that if more ppl lived by his teachings then the world would be a much better place. But my dad doesn't go to any church regularly. He goes with my mom every once in a while, Mom and me and my sis are all LDS, but that's it. He is just a good man and I love him to death!!!!
