How come people bash Christians. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of judgemental ones out there and that is not a way to be. You very rarely hear people slandering Hinduism, Buddism, Islam, and etc. How come the focus is on Christianity. It is because God just might be convicting your heart(this is a big possibility) and you have to shoot it down with negativity before it spreads and you REALIZE there is truly a Jesus Christ that died not just for me, but YOU, and He loves YOU just as much. Just wondering?

So you've noticed! - well i could quote huge amounts of scripture - but it would take all night - and i think you've answered it partly yourself. Some ppl are afraid to speak against Islam - it's not PC among other reasons - we are told, almost commanded to be tolerant of all religions by some here - i say yes we must be tolerant of peoples beliefs and show the love of Christ but we as Christians will be persecuted whatever we do or say here - we are in the company of The Master Himself when we're persecuted. You know i heard today that God put eternity in the hearts of men and women - isn't this Awesome - and their is some truth in what you say about conviction - only God can change the heart and sometimes it's blamed on us when the heart is convicted. An attack on us is an attack on our Saviour and Lord and vice versa. Remember we have the truth and there is no substitute for truth - and some ppl don't like to hear that b/c it sounds arrogant - but once the truth is in us, we can't un-know it...
Jesus said "Take up your cross and follow me" - we are the privileged ones..

I agree with Lexi above. Most people are against Christians because several Evangelicals keep trying to push there religion on everyone else via politics.
You last sentence is the typical type of statement which tends to turn more people "off" about Christianity. I, for one, reject the notion that Jesus died for anyone. He was a wise moral philosopher, nothing more.

Because Christians usually don't bash back. Christianity is a peaceful religion, even though I do not believe in it. Buddhism and Hinduism are'nt really that visible in the US and in the media. And these Christian bashers dont have the b@!!$ to speak against Islam, because Muslims are known for bashing back, and blowing up, and chopping heads, etc.

I'm as critical toward Islam as I am toward Christianity. Usually because these religions have a large proportion of adherents who do not support my freedom in a secular state, and who wish to blur the lines between their religion and government laws.

I think some individuals just need to "bash "everything around them. They will answer simple questions with blinding hate, etc. That is the hell they are trapped in. I personally pity them.

ok well i was totally in agreement until the last sentences...it only ever seems to be the christians who are representing religion here, and a there is always a massive lack of respect and tolerance on both sides...but i am not looking to be converted. please show the respect towards my beliefs that i am willing to show towards yours.

because christianity is shoved in my face every day, and it has caused so much negative crap in my life, but dont get me wrong. Thats not why i do not believe in god. The reason is because i have disproven it in everyway, and if there was i wouldnt worship him anyways.
