Our military is trained for battle and are doing an unprecedented outstanding job in a new kind of war. Do those against the war that are demanding our troops come home realize they are only prolonging this war? and keeping the terrorists laughing?

Please read the end of this article about how our troops can be arrested for trying to "complete their mission". Those against this war at home are psychologically devastating many of our best troops with their antiwar propaganda. This message of TOTAL CONFUSION daily, from back home is potentially more psychologically devastating than the war itself. To many of our politicians and the antiwar people I say: “shut up and grow up”, who else agrees??

Skip742, telling you what constitutes a win or the ludicrous plan of a withdrawal strategy, would once again provide the terrorists with our next actions. With the opposition some of our own country has been providing for our troops, the best thing that can be said is "mismanagement".

God bless our commander in chief for proving his wisdom by not discrediting this theory…really think about this and what this kind of "mindless doubt" is doing to our troops.

While I pray for our troops, I have mixed feelings about this "conflict". Remember, it's not a war since Congress didn't declare war.

Now, as for letting the terrorists know what we would do in regards to drawdowns or leaving altogether, it wouldn't have any effect on what the terrorists would do.

Did we not, with both the first Gulf "conflict" and this "conflict" let them know we were going to bomb them? Did it alter what they did? Nope.

All we have is a major mess. Dick Cheney admitted this back in 1994. He admitted that if we would have invaded Iraq, it would have been a mess. This is the link where he admits it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9YuD9kYK9I

We don't understand the middle east people and we never will. It's a "religious" thing.

What I don't like is when we have televangelists like John Hagee who promotes a preemptive first strike against Iran, he gets his congregation behind him.

This then leads to all the other churches out there following along. By this I mean I mean the "Mega" churches. They are all part of the same group.

The sad thing is that these ministers of these "Mega" churches have exorbitant salaries while many of their own congregation go without.

They say give, give, give without they, themselves giving to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We never see them out in the streets or going to the hospitals. They have bodyguards to protect them. Why? Jesus never had bodyguards.

These churches are what give true Christianity a bad name.

We all need to take a deep look at what is really going on and then keep praying for the safety of our troops.

I support our troops in the respect that I want them to come back to the U.S. in one piece. I want them to have a life and a family to come back to once they leave Iraq.

Am I asking to much? Ask yourself the same question and see what your inner person says.

Support the troops! Thank you! War is messy folks it's not a video game. We send these troops to battle and tell them people may try to randomly kill you but your not allowed to fight back til they've actually tryed....what the hell is that? If we are to win this thing we must allow our service men & women to do the job they were trained for. Oh and to everyone one who wants an immediate withdrawl. That's fine go ahead then fifteen years from now guess where we're gonna be sending your children? Also lets not forget whether they've found WMD's or not this country was still one of the largest supporters of terrorism in the middle east. The soldiers are trying to prevent ANOTHER attack on USA soil. Lets not forget people they opened pandoras box not us. We were admonishing them for bad behavior through those very same diplomatic channels you seem to think would work. Why because they have so well in the past? Honestly some people don't understand anything but force and assume anything less is weakness. Personnally I'd like to see the U.S. open a can of WW II wup a$$ and scare everyone enough that they'de just leave us alone again.

I agree with congratulations and honor to our wonderful troops. But I don't agree with some of your other statements.

For example, disagreeing with the war is always a reasonable position. It doesn't prolong the war. It is the careless administration which has no strategy that is prolonging the war. In fact, we defeated the Iraqi government years ago. If we'd thought through what to do then, we would have blocked the borders and prevented this terror war. Then we could have been out of Iraq and home by now. Instead, a careless, thoughtless management of the war from Washington leaves us in what now seems like an endless, pointless strategy of putting our men in harms way and then shoot at whoever attacks. THAT IS NOT A STRATEGY.

If you can give me some idea what our strategy is to win, or some idea even what constitutes a win, and I'll rethink my opposition. Until then, any patriot with any sense would oppose this stupidly managed war. In fact, you ought to notice that the largest donations from our troops are going to the anti-war candidates on both sides, particularly Ron Paul and Barack Obama. That ought to tell you something. The only pro-war candidate getting decent support among the troops is John McCain, who also has been justifiably critical of the management of the war.

No, I care about my country, about our military, and about our ability to defend ourselves against real threats. That doesn't mean that I support the strategy of a worthless president who has no military experience or background. Iraq was the wrong place to go at the wrong time. There is no good solution, and staying longer is not going to make it better, nor is there any strategy in place to win. Thus, I support withdrawal, despite the consequences. At least, if we withdraw, we will have a strong military left for the future. Right now, we are wearing down our troops like never before. This is the most anti-American and anti-military program that I can remember our nation getting involved in.

Yes, Pacer, our troops are doing an outstanding job, particularly in light of the ingratitude of so many of our citizens.

The article you give us a link to, fails to note that the Soldier was acquitted of most of the charges, including murder of the person he put the detonation cord on. His crime was making sure the investigators knew the shot he took was a terrorist. Evidently, the court found that it was a good kill. In other words, it was an enemy combatant.

You are also so very right in saying that the civilians protesting this war are doing the Soldiers considerable harm, particularly when they falsely accuse our Soldiers of crimes they are not committing. See LTC Grossman PhD, On Combat. www.killology.com

And worse, they are egging the enemy on. The enemy has had the strategy of outlasting the will of the American people since the beginning of the War on Terror, including Iraq since the beginning. They know they can NOT defeat our military. They took that page directly out of Ho Chih Minh's book.

They monitor the internet, including Yahoo Answers, as prescribed in their Manuals and explained in my article on their chapter on Espionage, "AQ Espionage according to the their book"

The threat is real. The mission is important. The cost of winning is expensive and will take decades. The cost of losing is devastating and would last lifetimes.

Agreed. 100%.
I find the liberal position of "I support the troops but not the mission" pathetic. If you support the troops you MUST support the mission totally. But then, liberals tipped their hand long ago. They loathe the military and all it stands for. This "support the troops" stuff is all baloney.
So I agree with you. They can shut up and grow up just like you said!

Our troops are doing a great job. I for one have been in the AF for 16 years. This is the hardest job I have even done 1. I have to be away from my family for months at a time. 2. We have to read and hear how we are killing just because.
I love serving the USA and I would do it again in a heart beat.

US troops should withdraw from Iraq, and the sooner the better, because they are cruel to innocent people and animals. I saw a short movie of US troops giggling while throwing stones at a wounded dog in Iraq. The significance of this is, that the dog did not even appear to try to attack these "brave soldiers", before of after they did that "great job".
