Yes according to the article they appear to be baffled when and where homo sapiens bounced on the scene. No fossil proof and no sightings in a gap of a million years. Makes Darwin's theory look a bit naff to say the least

If you're what is commonly termed "a believer" but still acknowledge science theory, then the origins are not a mystery at all, but the changes over time are. If you're not a believer, then they're both a mystery.
There's no reason you can't marry both the religious thinking and the scientific - they are not mutually exclusive.

it's not a complete mystery. there are unanswered questions but scientists have a good idea how to go about answering them: look for more evidence, mainly in the form of fossils. other explanations for human origins have at least as many unanswered questions and no proven way of answering them.

A 'mystery'? That's a bit harsh. There is an incomplete fossil record from what was probably not a particularly populous creature, that most lived in areas that don't fossilise well.
But who's crying? We know what went in, and we know what came out. No-one with any sense seriously believes that anything miraculous occurred in the interim - and there's certainly no sign of divine intervention.

The worst thing that happened to the human race was religion, it has caused wars and it didn't need to happen, uneducated people dreamt up gods, millions of years ago and it just escalated. Religion is the worst thing that happened to the human race, which evolved from the water millions of years ago, and then they saw a shooting star and thought that 'THAT IS GOD' what absolute rubbish...... and it is the worst thing that happened to us...

Of course they are - we have no idea how or why we are here. For all the theories in the world we still know nothing.

So I guess this proves God exists;
“That suggests there was not much Homo around then,” he said.

Science may not be perfect, but at least it is real.

Not to God.
Answer: If you expect to find the origin of human beings, take a look at what is there, not what should be there.

The details are. The details that can be revealed from the fossil record are countered by the broad linkages in molecular genetics.
