My girlfriend keeps brining up stuff about how she's not sure if we can legally have sex and a 3 year rule and stuff. I was told by my teacher that the age of consent is 16, but I can understand how things might change since she's a minor and I'm not.

So. What's the truth?

She is past the age of consent. Which is 16 in MI. If you two like you may have sexual relations.

If you were in MO. (where I am) it would not be legal. The age of consent in MO is 17.

she's past the age of consent.
and who is going to sue you? she will run off to the police lol? or you plan on doing it in front of your parents?

i'd be less worried about the law and more worried about the fact your girlfriend doesn't want to have sex with you and is making excuses to avoid doing it.

No. It is 18 nationwide, which is a Federal law.
