I'm asking more if they see other animals die and make the connection that someday in the future they are going to die.

Of course other animals know that they are going to die! Why do you think animals struggle to live, if they don't know the consequences of giving up?
Elephants not only know, they care. I am certain that all mammals know, on some level, and probably most reptiles and birds, too.
Let's take it a step further--due to the fact that they depend on their senses more, I'd say several species know when humans have disease or are going to die, and other mammals, too. Just like wild animals seem to know about tsunamis and earthquakes in advance.
Could it be we should be learning about death warnings from THEM?

I think most know something is happening, but probably don't know that they are dying. My grandparents had a dog which was sick, then wandered off. They never saw it again, and figured that's what happened. I've heard of it elsewhere.

i wouldnt be surprised if they do.
We still live in an age of Species(ism) whereby man is more or less blinded by our social and technological superiority. Thats why we invented gods which only cared about humans too.

Royal Racer is right. Elephants do. I'm pretty sure other intelligent animals do as well.

Yes, some of the brighter ones like wolves and dogs. A dog knows when he's had his day.

No. They only know the instinct to survive, hunger and thirst, oh and mating.

they definitely know when somthing is wrong .. but i doubt they understand the finality of it or what comes next anymore than we do ..
