Exactly! Even the horrid Crusades and recent pedophilia in the Church are sins of MEN and have nothing to do with the sacredness and holiness of the Church because the Church itself was established by Jesus. Do not get confused between sins of men and teachings of the Church. Jesus foreknew who would betray him, deny him and doubt him.....yet still he chose them. Unfortunately many today do not want membership in a church of sinners and saints....just saints. But Jesus did not come for the healthy, did he?
Even sacraments received from men who molested or married or other are NOT invalid to the recipient. Why not? Sacraments are not based or efficacious on the merits of the priest/bishop or deacon. They are efficacious by God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.

No, corrupt members do not make the Church invalid. They can, however, lead others astray. I know some people who have left the Church due to the actions of corrupt priests and/or other leaders.
A person should not leave the Church because of another's actions though. We do not go to Church for other people we go to Church for God and to receive Christ in the Eucharist. No matter how another person behaves, it is no reason to leave the Church.
The sacraments are valid because of the authority and office held by a priest or other clergy member. Their personal problems/issues cannot devalue the sacraments. The Church remains in Christ and the faithful must remain obedient to His will.

You are so right. Jesus Christ did not promise he will build a perfect Church.
There has always been sin, suffering and injustice in the Catholic Church, yet it continues to thrive after 2000 years. There has also always been saintliness and scholarship in the Church. This is a true sign that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are with the Church, as Jesus promised.

The church is the people. The believers are the church.
Let me tell you about a dream I had. I was in Heaven, and the Lord took me into a church. It was empty. I said, "where is everyone?" He said, "fill this place."
You see, the church is the people. It is not the building and it is not the organization. it is the people who are moved by the Spirit.
Agree?

All are sinners. It is those who claim christianity yet live according to there own pleasures that tarnish the reputation of the church. But even then I wouldn't say it makes the church invalid.

If they are really currupt, it is invalid. If they are only corrupt then it is just normal sinning.

When a man who claims to be the Vicar of Christ is corrupt and in some cases declared a heretic by that same church then yes I say it calls that church into question.
PLEASE GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD. THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS NOT THE CHURCH CHRIST FOUNDED. HE FOUNDED A CHURCH THAT IS COMPOSED OF ALL BELIEVERS NOT A DENOMINATION.
Sorry for yelling but I wish Catholics would get this through their heads.
