NO. A guinea pig will NOT thrive in a 10 gallon fish tank. As others mentioned, it's not big enough and there is not enough ventilation for their very sensitive resp. systems.
If your mom won't let you get a new cage see if you can get a used one maybe. Check out the smaller pet stores or flea markets to see if you can get one for cheap.
Is there a friend who can have it? Then you can visit your pig!

No,that would be very cruel.A Guinea pig should have at least a 50 gallon tank so it can run around.Even a large dog cage would be fine. But a 10 gallon tank~ NO! And,young Guinea pigs do not stay small forever, they grow up really fast. What would you do then? Get a hamster instead.

The minimum area required for a guinea pig is 2 square feet, so that would be about as small as you could go, yes.

However, aquariums are not recommended for guinea pigs or small animals, because they're a pain to clean out and as mentioned above, there's not very good ventilation so not only does it stink, but it's extremely uncomfortable for the guinea pig. Get a critter cage instead - try to avoid mesh bottoms, they're uncomfortable AND dangerous!

Absolutely not! A full grown guinea pig would barely have room to move, in a 10g tank. Plus, the lack of proper air ventilation, would quick succumb your guinea pig to respiratory complications.

They should be housed in a roomy wire cage with metal or plastic flooring.

No. A 10 gallon fish aquarium is barely big enough for one hamster. Keeping a guinea pig in a 10 gallon aquarium would be like you spending your WHOLE life, eating, sleeping, eliminating & playing in your smallest bathroom
