There is bacterial gastroenteritis, there is viral gastroenteritis but there is no such thing as stomach flu and you'll just have to ride it out. Treat the symptoms but not the diarrhea for the first 2 days. Then you can treat the diarrhea.
I'm really sorry. I know this isn't how you planned to greet your husband but I'm sure he'll be understanding.

im sorry but i think you have to let it go away on its own, sorta like a cold. whenever i have the stomach flu it usually lasts a week and i make sure to have plenty of blankets and a garbage pail and be near the bathroom. ohh and always have a glass of ginger ale. i usually take some medicine like dayquil im sorry i cant remember what it was... i really hope you get better cause stomach flu suckss

Sorry, I know you didnt want to hear that.
Clear fluids including soup broths, and lots of them for the next day - then add some jello, crackers, and easy to digest foods.
I'm so happy to hear that your husband is coming back.

Hate to tell you, but there's not much to do until it's out of your system. when you can keep things down try ginger ale...it's a natural remedy for the stomach. Small sips and get some rest.

let it run its course. scrub all surfaces, handles, lite switches, etc with disinfectant. wash your hands well & stick to clear liquids for the next 48 hrs.
