I think your logic is better than any I have seen from any of the others who think Global Warming is not real (or claim to)

Gen 8:21-22 phrases this a little differently than 9:11-13. These are translations of translations, etc.

Genesis 8:21-22 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though [a] every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

22 "As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease."
Gen 9:11-12

11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth."

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

But there is also REV

16:9They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

8:5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

The Trumpets
6Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

8The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

9:18A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.

21: 1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

your quote
"When you put ice in a glass of water, have you noticed once the ice melts, it levels out?? Isn't that awesome How I have proof that it is true. My opinion:"

As regards to sea level rise this statement is fundamentally flawed. It is true that ice melting in water doesn't raise the level of the water and it is the same with icebergs and ice floating on water, these will not raise the ocean levels. However there is substantial amounts of ice that are not floating on water, the Greenland and Antarctic ice caps. If these melt they WILL cause the sea level to rise Also as the water temperatures increase the oceans will expand; increase the sea level. However, the time line for this to occur is a lot longer than some of the more radical groups state.

Whether you believe in god or not, we should fix our own problems and minimise our effect on the environment. Be it for the benefit of all of mankind or all of gods creatures (not just humans); not just be selfish, stick our heads in the sand saying that we have no effect on the earth.

BTW, I don't believe some of the green groups that say the earth will end tomorrow. I am also equally as sceptical of the groups that say we are not damaging the earth. The truth lies somewhere in between. The sooner we start looking after the earth the better.

I absolutely have faith in the Bible, and the passage stated above. However, Global Warming doesn't mean that the earth is going to flood. No, Global Warming is just that. The earth warming up due to considerable gases blocking sun rays (heat) from escaping, thus building up in our atmosphere. However, I personally think that there's just not enough ice in the world to melt in order to flood the world. That being said, I'm not saying the ice won't all melt. I actually believe that if there isn't a way to reverse global warming (which I don't think there is) then eventually all the ice in the world will melt. (Unless of course, the ultimate judgment day will come before that :) ) The large floods will most likely damage billions of dollars of property, but less likely will devour the entire planet.

No offense intended, but your "theory" regarding global warming is completely irrelevant. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but it's wrong.

That's okay - my theory is irrelevant too (if I invented one). The only theories that matter are those of climate scientists, because it's their job to study the science behind global warming and come up with theories as to why it's happening.

Basically, and again, no offense intended, you have no idea what you're talking about. You haven't studied the science behind global warming for decades like climate scientists have. They know that all the scientific evidence points to humans as the primary cause of the current global warming.

Another point is that flooding will never destroy the Earth. How is water supposed to destroy the planet?

Another point is that it's not sea ice that's going to cause sea levels to rise - it's land ice like the Greenland Ice Shelf which are going to raise the sea levels.

I think that Global Warming is an issue that needs to be more of a concern to us. People don't understand how much harm they're causing to our earth daily. No one is telling them to make a drastic change like ride bicycles or anything. But people should try carpooling, and other efficient ways that will help protect our atmosphere. 50 years from now when our Earth is going to mostly consist of all water, people are going to wish they took this matter more seriously. It's all scientific facts.

You should watch An Inconvenient Truth.

Yes, Bob, good a minimum of the “one put up” simpletons and fans, you understand those that say stuff like, "It's snowing in Silicon Valley! international warming is false." I consider they arrive in on the identical percent price as those that are available and say, “It’s 60 levels in Illinois within the center of wintry weather, that proves international warming is occurring" you understand those we see daily that are available as soon as, name persons names or kind in capital letters to end up they're proper, after which anticipate truly solutions. Yeah skeptics are loaded with the identical percent of that kind of man or woman because the alarmists are. I am certain should you and Dana did a rely you might see that we've got almost the identical quantity of humans that are available and say that It's truly or no longer truly centered regularly on what plenty in their peers, technological know-how lecturers, co-staff, politicians, TV indicates, and Internet inform them. So as soon as once more, Yeah you'll get a few humans this summer season that transfer aspects of the fence and turns into a believer or skeptic considering of a localized climate occasion. And you'll nonetheless get persons asking the identical useful questions like “Why wont they think?” or “Why do they think?” (often in caps) 20 to 30 occasions an afternoon without watching via the historic posts. Oh my you ultimately introduced up the “conspiracy thought” in a query. So in which do I begin? You are speakme to the identical crowd that probably does no longer think in conspiracy theories. Let’s face it the well theories like “The Luna touchdown was once faked” and “Kennedy was once shot via more than one persons” are already taken via the left aspect of the fence. Usually they're those which can be slightly radical at the left aspect. The ones at the aspect of the fence, that don’t think international warming is guy made, are really an additional crowd. They are probably slightly conservative and towards the center of the avenue. Do we think scientists? Yes. However this entire factor is being blown out of share via the clicking, politicians, and bureaucrats. Do any of them mislead us? Only whilst their lips are relocating! The press loves this considering unhealthy information sells, the politicians have a first-rate political discussion board and the bureaucrats want their jobs. Do they lie, no longer always; they only propagate off every different. It is lovely usual. Now too many persons have jumped in this bandwagon. People get all emotional approximately the trouble which propagates it additional. We have evidence in society that this occurs, Just seem on the McCarthy and his which hunts, Americans grew to become loopy with the anti-communist propaganda. Or how approximately how George Bush labored up the American public after nine/eleven, each one was once so equipped to receive the Patriot Act that they under no circumstances regarded the penalties. He was once in a position to trip that wave of Patriotism from Afghanistan proper into Iraq. That, my pal, is what's going on right here.

If every bit of ice on the planet melts, the oceans will rise about 100 meters. There will be plenty of land left. GW could, however, result in temperatures that are 30 C higher than today. That would result in a mass extinction.

2007-09-30 16:14:53 · answer #7 · answered by cosmo 7 · 0 0

Well, I think it's true, but not a result of humans. I mean, no one can deny that temperatures have changed dramatically, but humans aren't to blame. And I agree with you, God is in control. God promised not to destroy the earth with water again, but like you said, ice melts and levels off. So basically, I think that the earth is getting warmer, but not from human negligence.

Earth is alive. it always finds a way to sustain its own life. only human sense that its existence shows little chance or its population will drastically decrease by some sort of global event to counterbalance the necessity to stay alive. LIFE WILL ALWAYS GO ON.
