I'm adopting a cat. What's a good cat name? I have a dog and I'm wondering if it will get along with her. She's a small friendly one though. I don't know what cat I'm getting right now but we are looking.

We just adopted an 8-week old orange male tabby yesterday. We went through an assortment of names: My ideas: Butterscotch, Buttercup, Simba (from The Lion King), Taz; hubby's ideas: Sylvester, Garfield, Pooh (as in Winnie the Pooh). Today my husband decided on Simba. We also have a 1-1/2 yr old cat, male gray long-haired that we named Tigger. Other ideas: Raja (from Aladdin), Tiger.

How about Truffles or Milo or even ummm Spike (if it is a boy of course)

I have cats named:
Henri (after Mark henry the wrestler named by my 7 yr old son) She is a girl but it works for us.
Clunk ( after TMNT Michelangelo's cat named by my 4 yr old son)
Homer as in Simpson (named by both my boys)
Gus named after my favourite Penrith Panthers legend "Phil" .Gus Gould.
And my nephew has a cat called Mysterio after Rey Mysterio the wrestler.
Kids come up with some pretty cool original names.

i have adopted a lot of kitties and so i have fun coming up with names...my favorite cat is my flat face fat black cat named Waffles...i also have a Ms. Bits, Professor Stripes, & Pancake(found her on the side of the freeway as a kitten with a broken tail and she couldn't walk, then turns out she's completely deaf too but she's a trooper)...i think my favorite name of any of my cats i've had was my General Meow.
once you get the cat home, take a few days to see what its personality is like and come up with something that fits it...good luck with your new kitty!

Well when I got my first cat I had a dog that was just over 1 and he was fine so I decided (His name is hutch) so I decided to name my cat starsky...lol...Now I have 3 more cats Binoo, Sidle and Grissom...as for names:
Tiger, Mimzy, Peanut, Nova, Quid, Morpheus, Trinity, Neo, Merlin, Houdini

I work at a clinic... im just an assistant.. and i think the funniest name i have seen is a cat named "dog"
he boards with us all the time...
I think it is an original name, kind of funny too...

i know a black and white cat named devious cause he can open doors
i know a gray and white cat named simon - i don't know why, lol

I named my cat Sadie because even though it isnt pronounced sad-ie it has sad in it and her eyes had a sad effect if you looked into them
for a boy i would say
Milo! it is a cute name for a curious kitten (arent they all)

I typically name animals after physical or behavioral characteristics specific to them. The last cat i had acted extremely shy. It was rare to hear her meow, but when she did, she squeaked. Hence forth, she was known as 'squeaky'.
My sisters cat is black with white paws. His name is Herman White Paw.
