Bomb the house and then vacuuming with moth balls in the vacuum bag. If you can't afford sentinel or the vet based products go with Hartz and use a good flea killer shampoo twice a month...also keep using the moth balls in the vacuum. Good luck.

Man, there is some ignorance showing in this thread. Flea collars don't work except to poison the cat. Flea shampoo doesn't work unless you buy the stuff the vet recommends -- the grocery store brands are worse than useless, since they often irritate the cats' skin, and if it gets in their eyes or mouths, you're introducing toxins into your cats' systems. Flea bombs are okay, but not 100% effective. Go to the vet. Buy some Frontline Plus or Advantage (F+ is better as it kills the larvae and eggs as well as the adult fleas.) There are numerous "organic" methods that work fairly well, which you can look up online, but if you want to get rid of those cats and you don't mind some relatively harmless pesticides, call Orkin or someone and have them flea-treat your house. (Interrogate your exterminator before you let them spray anything in your house, and find out what they're using. Some buffoons will use highly toxic chemicals that will kill the fleas, but make your cats sick. And don't give your cats garlic to get rid of the fleas. Toxic.

Go to your vet and buy Front line plus and a good flea shampoo for the dogs and the cats. Also get a good dip. You need to spray your house also. That includes all furniture and bedding. After that wait about 2 hours and vacuum everything. You need to give the animals a bath every week and vac *** everyday. Antibacterial Fabreeze on your carpet works wonders about 30 minutes before vacuuming. The fleas will suffocate.

Advantage or Frontline for the animals. For the house - use Borax. Sprinkle liberally on the carpets and floors. Brush or broom the Borax into the carpet, let it sit overnight and vacuum it up the next day. You may have to repeat the process but it truly works. Don't forget to flea comb the animals. The fleas you remove, put into a cup of soapy water. It kills them and flush them down the toilet or down the drain.

OK as Ive done before, take your two dogs in one spare room and the cats in another spare room. Go buy flea shampoo and when you go home, get the dogs and wash them with pet shampoo.(flea shampoo) then after you do that do the same with cats. Put the dogs in a flea free room before you do anything with the cats. the cats need to go to a flea free room too. Wait, before you get the dogs and cats in their room, put old blankets on them and after you are done with the animals distract them and go wash one blanket. then wash the other. DO NOT wash them together. they will not work.

flea collars are worthless. Get a flea shampoo and wash your cat more often. Also get a flea comb for your cat.

Nutritional (brewer's) yeast in their food - you can get it at any health food store. I tried it on my cat, and it made the fleas flee.

To keep the fleas off of you, add garlic to your food. You can use garlic powder sprinkled in your sauce, soup, etc.

Frontline for everyone!
And wash and vacuum everything.
Don't get flea collars, they don't work.

get rid of the dogs and cats.

or you could just get a flea collar, wash them regularly in anti-flea wash and keep them away from other flea-ridden animals.
