I feel so bad sometimes.

When I was five, she took me and my friend to the mall. Two teens started fighting, so she ran away to the parking lot leaving me and my friend standing there.

When I was in HS, she refused to come to my graduation because she said her poodle couldn't be left alone for more than 10 minutes at a time (ceremony was an hour and a half).

When I graduated from college, she again refused to come to my graduation because she said "No one wanted her there" (not true).

I'm not trying to throw a pity party, I just don't understand why she treats me like this and how she doesn't feel bad about it. She even tells my father, "Tell Linn her Grandma still thinks about her and loves her"

Give ur grandma a second thought.. I don't think she hates you. Maybe she has a good reason. One of those might be a health problem or a personal one. You have graduated from college, perhaps this will be a good time to talk with her. Show her you care by being kind and understanding. Compassion always goes a long way.

As we mature in life, we see that not everyone feels things for others and are just plain selfish. She may be just this, so try to forgive her, be proud of yourself and get on with your life. I never had grandparents, but I sure love the little granddaughters I have. Everyone is different and we need to accept it. This is your Grandmother's loss-not yours.

My maternal grandmother is the same way with me, while she spoils my little sister to no end. Understand, she HATES our father, whom I happen to take after in most ways. Transference, it's called: she hates who I remind her of, therefore hates me. Perhaps this is your case? Maybe she's simply a bitter person? If she has a controlling personality, maybe she feels she's lost her rein.

If you really want to get some attention from her, why don't you her one first. You may be the one who is not giving her the attention she expects from you. Love begets love, you know. If you want to be loved, try to give some love first.
