I will be making a Scallopini dish that calls for Marsala wine. Is there anything else that I can use in place of this that would be just as good?

Marsala can range from fairly sweet to fairly dry... not sure which the common style is in the US. See which your recipe calls for and match it with an equivalent Spanish sherry like a Fino or Oloroso... certainly not a cream sherry. Port, unless it is a really good Tawny Port, tends to be far heavier so I would definatly NOT use that.

The port may be possible, but do not expect it to taste the same.

Marsala wine only tastes like Marsala wine and something else may taste gently different. Port won't taste bad, but it should be cooked a touch longer to provide a similar taste. The port may make it a touch sweeter.

Sherry is pretty close to Marsala.

A purist with sensitive taste buds probably could tell the difference, but to me, it tastes just as good if you use sherry.
