My husband has a daughter who is 8, well she is not even his kid. When he was preiviously married to this woman, she and he raised his then wife's cousin's daughter and told her that they were her parents. Well my husband is no longer with that woman obiviously, and the girl who is eight lives with her real mom. Well my husband told me that whenever the girl stays over he always kisses her bye on the lips. Does anyone else think that is weird?

I'm just a kid but i do think that is wierd. I think maybe you should ask the little girl if she feels wierd when he does that. If it feels wierd to her then yes thats wierd, and not right to boot.
But like i said i'm just a kid, What do i know?????

i've got seen this question in the past... i do no longer think of that there is something incorrect with a father kissing their daughters on the lips... If there is something incorrect, then why is it ok for a mom to kiss the two a daughter or son on the lips? i discover it unhappy that each and every thing is sexualised!!! I don't think it is strange at all if it is just a quick peck on the lips. I frequently kiss my father on the lips when saying bye.
However, the previous answer by Mermaid was the best advice. If you are still concerned ask the daughter. If the daughter is fine with it then you should respect their father/ daughter relationship. If she is not fine with it then you should speak to the girl's mother.

It's such a shame that this is construed as inappropriate behaviour by majority of the answerers. Our society has made any fatherly expression of love to be an incestuous and sick act.
I don't think it's weird. The only way this would be weird or inappropriate is if the kiss was more than a peck.

Sweet 16 sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one. Providing it is just a little friendly peck on the lips I can't see any harm that it is doing. If however he was to make it long and sensual then yes I would have to be in your corner. Kids all need to feel positive reinforcements and him showing the little kid some affection by kissing her on the lips isn't a bad thing.

I don't think that's too weird. It's good they are very close. I have a really close relationship to my grandpa and when I was that age I kissed him on the lips but, that was also the age I stopped. Let's just hope it ends really soon:) or else it's weird.

Nah I find that it is completely normal....when I was a little girl I kissed my mom AND dad on the lips but it was only a little peck. But if it seems like more than a peck then he's a perv.

Well no, He loves her and she loves him He should brake that tho, So some don't get the wrong idea, My friends used to kiss her dad on the lips when she was younger.

yup, i think it's totally weird and inappropiate. i never saw it with my own eyes, but a friend in high school swears that a guy i liked was dropped off in front of the school and his dad called him back to the car for a kiss goodbye on the lips. EW.
my uncle lets his granddaughter run around his house with no diaper on because he says her "privates need air" i find that equally creepy.

I think that it's weird since for one, it's not his daughter and two, he shared that information with you. I think he knows it's inappropriate as well, and he told you as if it was something innocent to alleviate his own nagging concerns about what he's doing. If I were you, I'd let him know that you are uncomfortable with it and before someone else gets wind of that situation he needs to stop doing that. Others might not feel it's as innocent as he's trying to make it out to be.
