No, pets do not carry lice like humans do. But of course lice can rub off of a person on to a pet and survive for a short time until you pet them. But pets wouldn't support the lice any differently than furniture would. Furry pets do not increase the chance of getting lice and more than household fabrics and furniture do. The people who answered so far are absolutely wrong, and don't know what they're talking about.

People get lice. Pets get lice. However, lice are species specific. Pet lice will not live off of people and visa versa. Pet lice is very contageous among other pets. People lice is very contageous with other people.
Others should not answer if they do not KNOW the facts.

It could get on you, but lice is specific to species. Human lice cannot be given to animals, and animal lice does not like humans.
What makes you think your house pet has lice????

But rest assured that pets can't catch head lice and pass them on to people or ... Because lice are easily passed from person to person in the same house

Sometimes you can get lice from house pets. They may spread but when you clean them, they are drained out! So be careful, lice may hurt you but not really.

Maybe.Look it up.U can get cooties cuz their a type body lice that may apply 2 both u and ur animal if it has it.
