Yes, you can play Blu-ray discs in all TVs, both standard def. and high-def (both 720p/1080i and 1080p). The player will just scale down the image.

You can use the Blu ray disc player to any tv which is DVD compatiable

there is no difference in connecting options

the change is only the quality

TV with 1080 P is clear than the normal television. you can find the difference when you watch and compare it both

I somewhat have the Sony Blu-Ray participant, yet to inform the reality, the PS3 is a greater appropriate deal. in case you opt for to play a game or 2, that is there, and who's familiar with who will win the format warfare? you besides mght have the online acquire of the Blu-Ray updates as you pronounced, yet purely FYI in case you get the Sony participant, you may acquire the updates on line and burn them to a disc. Then, you purely positioned the disc in and the participant updates itself that way. as much as you for sure, yet once I had it to do as quickly as greater, i might have offered the PS3.

Yeah but it's not really worth it unelss you have a HDTV, even it is not 1080p, other resolutions like 1080i or 720p will look great.

On a small sized standard definition tv it won't look any better then a standard DVD.
