I just don't have a container for dressing, so I was wondering what would happen if I left the dressing on it for a few hours until I eat it.

You could take a small bottle with you, or put some in a Ziploc baggie.. because it will probably wilt, and take a small Ziploc with some "crunchies" in it too...If you are using an oil and vinegar base dressing you are less likely to have a huge problem, just don't use to much. I still don't recommend it.. no one likes a wilty salad, right?

Try putting the dressing on bottom of your container and top with tomatoes then the rest of your salad. Keep container upright and then stir or shake when ready to eat.
Or bring lettuce in seperate container to be added at lunch.
It's the lettuce that will be affected.

Yes, it will get "wilty". Just take the bottle of dressing with you.

Just don't mix your dressing in til lunchtime. It won't be quite as nice, but it will still be mighty fine!

Not if you have a really crisp lettuce and don't drench it in dressing. I do it all the time.
