Nope. You're either born with it or you can't get it. A bump on the head, however, can cause other serious problems.

People today, are being conned into thinking that autism is something you are born with. In some cases, it is I imagine, but back a few years ago, only about thirty years ago, actually,..the odds were one in 500,000 children, had it. They used to think it was from a cold mom, and neglect, believe it or not. But now, because of all of the immunizations the government, and lobbyists, and big pharmaceutical companies are forcing on children for nothing more than huge financial gain, the statistics are now more like one in 156 children, The government will not admit to this, and not only does the mercury and thermiosol, that is used in the combo of almost 96 shots now required to be given in school,...but they force it on children also, against a parents will, and do NOT care about the consequences.. Many people will not accept this but it is the truth. But a bump on the head, no...I have have heard, however, that in extreme cases, it can cause Schizophrenia...believe or not.

If autism was caused in any way by a bump on the head then practically everyone would be autistic. Every child gets bumped on the head at some point.

No, a bump on the head cannot cause autism, although a severe "bump" may cause other mental disabilities/brain damage. For the most part, you are born with it. However, some claim that the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine can cause it. This is controversial, and there is "overwhelming scientific evidence showing no causal association between [it] and autism".
In short, the consensus is that you don't become autistic, you're born autistic.

>> The scientific world has yet to discover exactly what causes autism ~ It appears to be something that is inherent from birth though. Dont think it can be acquired...A bump on the head may cause other problems though...eg..concussion, & in more serious cases, brain damage.

No. You're born with it. But a bump on a kids head at different ages can bring different problems, like brain damage.

You have to be born with it. It's a brain disorder, not something acquired by a bump on the head.

I agree with you 100%. I'm so sick of all the government policies, pretty soon they will control our lives completely and most of the people do not want to acknowledge it.
