He should have been neutered two months ago. The longer you wait the higher the chance that he will continue to spray through his adult life. Once a male cats hit sexual maturity they become territorial and begin to spray (pee) around the house. They do this for two reasons. One is to tell all other males that this is his territory. The second is to attract females that are in heat.

The recommendation for when male cats should be neutered is between 6 - 8 months, the soon the better though (in that range). Since he is 8 months old now, it could be a matter of days before he beings to show the territorial behavior. If you wait until he begins to spray before having the procedure done it could be too late to prevent him from spraying afterwards, as it becomes a learned behavior. Having the procedure done before sexual maturity never gives the hormones a chance to control the cat which means no spraying and aggressive behavior.

You should call your vet tomorrow morning and schedule the procedure for as soon as possible. The procedure is simple for males and he will be back to normal in no time. Get him in now!

Good luck!

some unneutered cats do no longer spray, despite the fact that, they are able to be actually introduced directly to realize this. What this suggests is sooner or later, once you have a customer over at your place, your cat might settle directly to start spraying because of the fact some thing appropriate to the hot scent triggers it. there's a intense probability that once you get him yet another cat for a much companion that he will start up spraying then and teach the aggression your vet warned you approximately. He may additionally sooner or later see some thing (yet another cat is a robust set off) exterior that makes him start up those behaviors, and start up asking to pass out. The worst section is that when he starts, neutering him isn't a assure that he will supply up. countless the time neutering will supply up it. yet now and back, the cat comes abode and would not know his very own scent anymore and maintains to spray to avert the different cat (it is somewhat him), and because he's interior the habit of doing so. however the stable information is that if he's a loving, stable-natured cat now, neutering him won't exchange that. What that is maximum possibly to do is "supply up" him the place he's at - as a replace of letting his character evolve right into a greater aggressive/territorial cat as he gets older.

He's already old enough to neuter, but be sure to get him neutered before he turns one year old, which is when he will reach sexual maturity. If you don't do it before then, he will start marking your house with a special extra smelly urine that only mature male cats can produce. He may even try to mark you yourself with it. Also he will immediately impregnate any female cats you might have. In general neutered cats are calmer and nicer than cats that have not been neutered.

Now. He may already be sexually mature. You want to neuter him before he starts with any territorial behaviour like agression, running out of the house, or spraying.

Now! The sooner the better. You want to have it done real soon before he starts to spray around the house. That's an awful thing to go threw.
