Every night I first wash my face with hot water to open the pores and clean the dirt, sweat, etc.

However, I'm not so sure whether to leave the pores open while sleeping, or close the pores with cold water.

Basically, I'm asking if it's better to sleep with open pores or closed pores. Will closed make the oil clog? Will open just get more dirt?

Guys, I know that I'm supposed to wash my face with hot, then cold. I'm just worried that closing my pores up while I'm sleeping will clog any oil, since sometimes I wake up with an oily face and new pimples.

Unless you go straight to bed after you are done washing your face, I wouldn't worry about the whole closed pore/open pore deal. However, if you tend not to wash your pillowcases/ sheets that often, I would probably use the cold water afterward. I, personally, wet my face down with warm water, then wash it using warm water, rinse with warm, then splash my face with cold. I'm not sure about your last two questions, but If you wash your face every night and morning (or even just every night) I doubt you will get as many zits as you would if you didn't wash your face at all.

Always wash with warm water this opens the pores up so you can get a deep clean then once you are done washing and rinsing splash your face with cold water...this makes pores smaller so it's harder for dirt/oil to get trapped.

Here's the best way to wash your face: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. You'll also want to take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover.

I Actually would reccomend washing your face with lukewarm water. I suffer from acne and i have found it best not to use face wash but just rinse my face with lukewarm water and apply a moisturizer right after. Aveeno would be the best brand.
