First of all, if the dog is painful and won't let you clean the wounds, you'll need to muzzle it. Get some pantyhose or a leash and loop it over the top of the dog's nose where the bony bridge of the nose is, tie one tie under the jaw, then tie the rest of it behind the ears. this will make a home-made muzzle and it will keep you from getting bit.

Clean the wounds with hydrogen peroxide. If the wounds are bleeding, apply pressure to stop the bleeding, if any. If you can find any gauze or bandage tape to lightly bandge to wounds (only if they are bleeding). If they are not bleeding, clean them, apply neoporin if you have it and they can probably wait until tomorrow to be seen by a vet. Keep the dog quiet, confine it to another room if you need to, and it'll be okay until tomorrow.

If the dog has any signs of distress: not eating, lethargic, difficulty breathing, pale gums...These are signs of shock and the dog needs to go to an emergency vet immediately.

Otherwise, see the vet tomorrow.

They were fighting over the treat. Remove any other treats or food they could fight over. Hydrogen peroxide will take out any blood stains, but it might lighten dark fabrics.

Erg! I'm not sure what you should do, but you should not touch a dog in pain after a fight as it may bite you. I doubt the leg is broken, and even if it is the dog will usually be okay for a few hours until someone can get there to take it to the clinic. That sounds mean, but I know of a girl who waited all night with a broken arm. Be careful and put all the dogs in separate rooms, leaving the most injured one where it is.

I'm sorry you had to learn the hard way that dogs don't always make friends with new dogs.

Both dogs should be seen by the vet as soon as you can take them because puncture wounds can be much deeper than they look on the outside, and will require antibiotics and possibly stitches and drains to prevent abscesses from forming. Most dogs don't break bones during dog fights unless it's a jaw, but it's still not common.

Just keep them separate from now on and take them as soon as you can. Good luck

I would say get someone to take it to the nearest vet OR call the vet yourself. The dog is obviosly hurt pretty bad if it cant walk and there was all that blood...plus it might have lost to much blood. Id get the vet right away!

if they are both male dogs they are gonna fight no matter what u do. believe me ive had exact same problem. u cant get them apart by yelling, hitting, etc, it makes it worse. keep them apart. the injured dog needs a vet, or clean and disinfect the wounds, with water, clean cloth and neosporin and then bandage them. u can treat him as a human just only a tenth of dose. u need to contact an adult also or the vet.

Go to a neighbor, if you're unable to drive, yourself. Ask them to take you & the dog to the emergency vet clinic. They'll do basic care, until you figure out how to get your parents or someone over there to be able to pay the bill.

No matter how you go about it, this dog needs to see a vet soon. The wounds could get infected, there could be serious damage, and you don't want him to loose too much blood.

P.S. Don't listen to Seantae when it comes to what should become of the other dog. Toy-aggressive can easily be dealt with, if you have the commitment to do training. Aggression shouldn't always go directly to euthanization (otherwise, my dad's dog would've been 'put to sleep' at 2 months old).

Call your local vet and explain to them, they may be able to get someone out there to help you! what you need to do is try to clean the wounds as best you can and if the dog becomes agressive to you then back off and wait till help gets there. if your dogs cant share try not to give them one toy, try throwing tons of toys out and they will choose what they want if its the same toy then take it away and let them choose from the pile again, hope I helped!

You need to call whatever adult is in charge and get them to come over and help you take the dog to a vet.

Call a vet... can you drive yet? If you can put them in kennels, load 'em up, and take them to the vet. If you can't drive call a neighbor and ask them for help. Just get them to a vet!

OMG!! that sound horrible, call the vet and tell them what happened and ask if they will make a house call, your dog is obviously now it the condition to leave the house.
