Where is Okie Ville California? Why do they call it that for?

They still have little communities from Thousand Oaks, El Rio and up the Central coast and valley that were once called that. The residents can still carry a little Okie twang.

"Kingsley" is absolutely correct. During the 1930's much of the Midwest suffered from a sever drought which caused the area to be referred to as the "dust bowl". Many residences, of Oklahoma in particular, migrated to the central valley region of California to find work in the fields harvesting crops. It was the basis for the John Steinbeck novel "The Grapes of Wrath". The central valley of California is from roughly Bakersfield to Modesto. The term "Okieville" became an insulting way to refer to any of the cities and towns in this area, much like the term "Cali" is an insulting way to refer to California.
