My daughter is almost 3 years old and she always whines and cries for no reason ever since she was born. She is rarely happy with anything. She has no medical problems at all.

Could this be a hormonal imbalance in her, and if so, how do I help her be happier everyday?

Doubtful. Whining and crying are normal ways 3 year olds get attention.

She is getting what she wants from you for doing it so consider ignoring her when she whines and cries and telling her (by modeling) how you want her to behave/talk to you. When she does it properly, reward her. Many times kids don't know they are whining. A friend of mine tape recorded her little girl (also 3) and then played it back so she could hear how she sounded. Then they practised talking without whining. This, combined with the reward/ignore system eliminated the whining in under a month.

I think that if a child whines and cries for no apparent reason they must be spoiled. Do you give in to her? Do you say, "Be good and I'll buy you a toy?" Do you go running every time she cries? Is she an only child? Do you have her socialize with other children or is she with you 24/7?

If none of the above, then I'm going to guess that whining is just who she is. Get used to it, its only going to get worse.

no its not a hormone imbalance...do you play with her...take her out...our is she just stuck somewhere...while your busy...
something may truly be bothering her...talk to your mom and your doctor...they are your best advisers for now...not the lam people who have no idea the reality of your question...
and whining and crying is a behavior problem...if she whines and cries and gets what she is seeking then the behavior works...for her...notice when she has this behavior...does she want something her own way...talk to your mom she will help you...also she is only three...

have you been watching her diet? if you give her fruit, do it an hour before a meal so that the enzymes can digest it. Stay away from processed foods, stay organic and natural. Drink soy milk.

Also, clean your home with natural products like baking soda or vinegar. harsh chemicals could be harmful if here is an allergy.
