Angry people are usually either mean, self-centered and out of control and usually a person you don't want to be with.
Anger is energy and the person who has it needs to express it appropriately and your husband is not doing that.
He does it to you because he can, you have taught him that, by showing him your love. Medication may help but he really needs counseling. Since he only displays his anger to people close to him that he knows loves him, he will continue to do this until you say that it is not OK.
Good Luck.

tell him he's scaring you and you don't want your kids to witness that. thats emotional abuse. he probably doesn't know how much he's hurting other people. anger is caused by chemicals in the brain and he needs to go through therapy or relax somehow to help himself. i truly believe over reactions are more a chemicals fault than a persons heart.i hope he gets better; ). and remember everyone goes through problems. every human being is genetically made differently.

It's too late isn't it ? you are probably already in the last stages of love , regretably you and he are probably a memory ,, but if there is any hope you have to leave NOW , tonight no more [ prick me here I can take it ] not one more time or you will be over ,,Tell him it's over , tell him goodby , then if you find a glimmer of love still alive start over , but you cant start from here , you have to move on first , ,,,, leave him before it's over ,, or it will be OVER,, today is his last day to enjoy your company ,, get your mom to help you , I'm not afraid of him becoming violent , I worry for the marrage of love nothing more .....act now befor its too late,,,,

I would give him a choice - Anger Management or divorce. If he's in denial, tape record him sometime and play it back for him. He might see the light.
