that its a sin to talk to the dead? so if we narrow it down and we except Jesus as our savior and live by the ten commandments, then we will get to heaven right, but no where does it say in them that we can not believe in reincarnation and that we can talk to the dead. you can not say that if it were so God would have said so, because God himself even said that he has kept many secrets, he has not told you everything, I dont understand why that part keeps getting forgoton.

In Deuteronomy 18 the Lord had said, "There shall not be found among you…a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord" (vv. 10-12). The Lord had also told His people that they were not to seek out mediums (Lev. 19:31).
The 10 commandments also did not condemn: Drunkenness, obscene language, laziness, pride, pre-marital sex, among others. The Ten Commandments are the core of the laws of God. Many scriptures expand upon them in great detail. God’s commandments are the standard that enables us to know when we are on course and when we have drifted away.

As far as reincarnation goes, it's not mentioned in the Old Testament or in the accepted New Testament, but it is mentioned in the Gnostic gospels. In one instance, Jesus says if you don't get it right this time, you keep coming back till you do. Books that talked about reincarnation were deliberately omitted by the northern Mediterranean church because it would have taken away their control of everyone by making it unnecessary for them to obey them or face going to hell permanently. Also, in the accepted New Testament, Jesus asks his disciples who do people say I am. They reply that some people think he is the reincarnation of Moses, some Elijah, which indicates that reincarnation was an accepted belief of the Jews.

What are you talking about? I know many people take comfort in talking to their dead loved ones... But I think you may be talking about more than that.
Where in the Bible is reincarnation mentioned? If it does not exist, then why would it be mentioned? I think it was invented by people who wanted to be like Christ. Instead of being Resurrected, they say they have been reincarnated. So, are you talking about talking to dead spirits that have been reincarnated into someone else? Because that is possession, not reincarnation...
I guess I don't totally understand the question. I do know that God has kept MANY things from us, or we would not have so many questions. But if He wants us to keep free will, then I'm sure He can not give us all of His Truths.

God told the Israelites in Deuteronomy that they were not to be consorting with the dead. It is not a part of the ten commandments, but it is part of the law.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.
There is no reincarnation either. Otherwise, you could be held responsible for your actions in every life! What if you were evil in one life and good in another? How could you be judged? God doesn't play those games. You get one chance, honey, and then it's eternity.

You are right Cindy it doesn`t say this specifically in the commandments, but talking to the dead can take various forms, you can talk to your dead Mum or Dad for example as they are no further away from you than God and God is very close indeed.
You enter a different realm though with necromancy and the use of mediums,Necromancy is a special mode of divination by the evocation of the dead. Understood as nigromancy (niger, black), which is the Italian, Spanish and old French form, the term suggests "black" magic or "black" art, in which marvellous results are due to the agency of evil spirits, this would be an offence against the very first commandment.

Anti-Reincarnationists never stop trotting out that bit from Paul in Hebrews 9:27: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
But in 1 Corinthians 15.31, Paul has changed his mind and says, "I die everyday."
But still they can't agree. In the very same Bible - Revelation 21:8 - "This is the second death."
This doesn't refute reincarnation in the slightest, anyway. Of course a man dies once. We are mortals. We experience death and face "judgment" (analyzing our past life and its karma). Then we are reborn into a new man (or woman).
Jesus said, "Truly, literally, you must be born again" and "no one goes to heaven but he who came down from heaven", but why should Christians believe Jesus? They'd rather believe someone like Paul who never knew him and certainly never understood his teachings.
If Christians think it's wrong to talk to the dead, Christians should stop talking to Jesus and their saints, because, hello, THEY ALL DIED.

I am a Catholic. I do believe in reincarnation. Mind you your soul goes to heaven first and then you can decide what you can come back as. I do agree with you.
