You would be referring to "dao" (formerly written "tao") as in Daoism or Taoism. The Chinese character is 道。

Mandarin?
Cantonese?
Haka?

There are others. Someone i used to know spoke Cantonese and haka, along with about 12 other languages.
Great bloke. ......Just to say Chinese is more than one language/dialect... I know there is difference in the sound and tone.

Is it written different or a totally different word. we need advise from someone out there, who has more than one

Do it this way... zhe yang 这洋
route, path... liu xian 路线
be in the way... dang lu 当路
lead the way... yin lu 引路
