I have a 2003 Ford Tauras V-6 with 94,000 miles. The other day it was fine then this morning I went to move it and it will start right up and just die right out unless I give it throttle. And even then it won't run smooth and its pinging. As soon as I let off the pedal, it idles down to nothing and dies. I was thinking it could be the Idle Air Control valve, just a hunch but what do you think.
Thanks all...

IAC problems are very common esp. when the weather changes from hot to cool. It's not as common on Taurus as some other models but it does happen.

it could be that or a sensor that has went out on it,if you can get it to someone that has a scanner, and have them scan the computer on it,if it has any trouble codes in it at all ,this will show them, and possibly help with repairing it also, but it wont hurt to take the iac off an clean it real good, this may help it ,all you can do to be sure is have it scanned other wise your just guessing at it,good luck with it.

ok, it never hurts to get ur gas filter changed, but, to me it sounds like either the idle or the throttle position sensor, it's got way too many miles on it to be an 03....
check that sensor, that might be it...

examine the EGR valve additionally look and pay attention for any vacuum leaks. it somewhat is no longer probable a gas filter out because of the fact it would be greater beneficial laid low with acceleration and a bigger desire for a bigger quantity of gas and yours is opposite of this if it would idle yet decrease out it could have been a filter out.
