Yea. Fishing in the rain is sometimes excellent. Once the water in streams starts to get murky from runof, though it generally tapers off. Many mayflies and caddisflies hatch in the rain, and it slows their drying time, making them sluggish and more likely to land right back in the water. Dry fly fishing is often quite good in the rain, and if your fly starts to get wet and sink, just continue fishing in the surface film, 'cause that's where the naturals are anyway. More reasons abound, but, Yes. Fishing in the rain is sometimes very productive. However, remember two things...When you're in a boat on the water, you are the highest thing. And.... that graphite rod of yours makes an excellent conductor... So If lightning is going on. Head for cover

yeah it is good fishing in the rain. a few of my best catches have been during a rain. The rain washes the food off the top and fish will go for whatever comes there way, especially pike, and smallies. largemouth also

Fish tend to move shallow in rainy situations because light typically is less with cloud cover and when a front finally goes through, the fish will go deeper in accord with increased light (cold front situation) Many think that temperature dictates fish movement when really it is tied to the amount of light.

Absolutely the pressure change and the abundance of forage scurrying for cover make for some of the best fishing! Some of my best catches were in the rain or just before a heavy down pour.GOOD LUCK and KEEP FISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, yes, worms and bugs get washed into the water, so the fish feed during and after a rain.

If there's fish, rain or shine. If no fish there, of course, you won't catch anything.
