The Canadian Navy is now allowed to dump waste( such as food scraps and human waste) into the Antartic ocean! What are your opinions?

They can do this because the ships start to smell and they don't have time to get to shore! What a stupid reason!

So they're joining the rest of the world in dumping waste there. Why target them? There's a lot going on that the 'papers don't tell you about.

Do you really mean to say Antarctic? Don't you mean the Arctic? Because the Antarctic is pretty far from Canada but much of Canada in IN the arctic.

Ships have been dumping waste at sea in all the other oceans for thousands of years, ever since ships were invented. If there was some special protection for the Arctic ocean before, I was not aware of it, but I suppose it is possible there was. I guess with the ice melting they think the protection is no longer needed.

Do you have solid information?, I heard of many horror stories that governments don't want you to know(like the area 51 in the USA), but in regards to the oceans, any intellectual knows, & it's no big secret that the same(oceans) are polluted even with tires, not to mention other culprits. What do I think? It's a pitty, but the ecology is everyone's responsability, however, not everybody cares. Do you?
