Even though I'm a guy, I'm going to try to answer this because I've had gray/white hairs since I was 20 (27 years ago). In my opinion, it makes no difference if someone colors their hair or not. The only thing is, once you start, you have to keep it up. Vanity does have a price, after all. Over the years, the price will add up. But I suppose there are worse things to spend your money on.

So - that aside, I would consult a professional to start with. They should be able to recommend a hair dye that is relatively safe for your hair, and give you other tips on how best to keep the grey hidden while minimizing the damage that can be done by frequent dyeing.

Good luck....

Trust me when I say - talk with a professional hairdresser. I started turning gray at age 17 - so did my mother.

Tried fixing the problem several times myself and ended up with a mess.

Get professional advice.

Good luck!

Hair grows white when the color pigment (melanin) ceases to be produced in the hair follicle and small air spaces take its place. Please check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.
