You have probably stretched a muscle that wasn't completely developed yet. The best thing you can do is to consume more calcium (milk products), potassium (potatoes, apple juice, orange juice) and some magnesium (oatmeal, veggies).

Calcium helps muscle strength, potassium allows muscle to stretch without strain, and magnesium helps to attach the muscle to the bones. These are all minerals which are required for healthy muscles, including the heart muscle.

A supplement that may help relieve the pain sooner is nettles. You can buy nettle capsules at any health food store. Nettles help relieve arthritic problems and muscle strains. They are high in minerals.

There is a strap brace you can buy from Walmart in the pharmacy or Walgreen' or any pharmacy. The brand name is TheraP. It is about ten bucks. Cortisone shots only make it worse. The brace will strenghten the tendon allowing it to heal. It will need a year. Tendinitis comes from over use. Repetitive motion. Try changing your habits.
