Since the first three people who answered didn't appear to have read your question, I thought I'd give it a try.

You need something that has a TV tuner to convert the "cable wire" signal to the red, yellow, and white composite wires.

The cheapest way to do this is to find an old VCR (you just need the electronic part, the mechanical part doesn't even have to work). Just connect your "cable wire" to the antenna/RF/"UHF/VHF" input, and connect your three wires from the VCR's outputs to your TV inputs. Make sure the VCR is set to whatever channel the SNES outputs to (presumably channel 3 or 4).

If you are in the US, in Jan 08 the US government is going to start a coupon program that will let you get a digital TV converter box for about $20. You can use one of these instead of a VCR. It will also let you receive both digital and analog broadcast TV channels on your "broken" TV (if you can get broadcast signals.)

the only thank you to connect a PS3 to a television is with an HDMI cable (which your television for sure does no longer help), or a particular sort of element or composite cable. The element version connects to the PS3 on one end, and distinctive has a collection of purple-green-blue RCA pins and 2 purple-white audio RCA pins, which your television possibly does no longer have. If it does, get that form. the tip of the composite version has yellow-purple-white pins, which your television is in reality approximately particular to have.

You need an RF Modulator. They're available at Walmart for about $20.
