It all depends on what you choose to do, how skilled you become at it, the people you work with, job satisfaction, and so on.

I served six years, might have done more, but the politics - there is a LOT of backstabbing, be careful - and lack of personal fulfillment made me decide it was time to go.

Whether or not someone makes a career of it, that depends on the individual's experiences.

Best of luck to you, thank you for having the courage to stand up for what you feel is right.

It all depends on what you want to do. I know alot of SM whose first contract is 4yrs and then if they have a long AIT then their contract is 6yrs. Sometimes with your assignments you really love the military and reenlist, or with all the deployments the Military still needs you and won't let you go.... You can always do college while you are enlisted.

What ever you deside to do with you life, if it is joining the military I wish you the best of luck during you training.

the army is rather like quite a few different agencies, there are dumb a$$es and there are sensible and sensible human beings. i assume you won't be able to easily stereotype each and every physique interior the army and/or different agencies. for the period of my years interior the army (with my interest, I have been given to artwork/are available touch with many diverse military contributors from many diverse jobs in each and every of the branches, as properly as military contributors of distant places international locations), I even have met somewhat some military contributors that have been in basic terms extraordinary, and that i understand that they are going to prevail in despite they plan to do interior the destiny. yet regrettably, I additionally had to fulfill bunch of unmotivated, under-knowledgeable, lazy, dumber than canines $hit, whinny $hit-bricks as properly. i think of that a number of them have been dropped, the two by danger or purposely, via their mothers whilst they have been toddlers. I used to ask your self now and returned,"how would desire to a number of those each and every person remains alive over the age of 18 devoid of by danger killing themselves a protracted time in the past?" even nevertheless, i became very fortunate to have earned my place to be in military EOD, the place various the techs tend to have larger IQ, so lots extra complication-loose experience, and very prompted persons than maximum different military contributors. and that i will wish the army would not decrease the factors just to fill the slots. presently, i'm in college attempting to get my grasp's on the 2d; and yet, I nevertheless would desire to cope with ignorant $hit-bricks extraordinarily lots each and every time I walk on campus (quite often, undergratuate scholars). i assumed college scholars are assume to be smarter, yet i assume i became incorrect. BTW, i'm no longer attempting to bash the army; I owed what I even have now and what I had carried out interior the previous to the army. even nevertheless, I do have an opinion.
