It's news to me anyway cause I have never reported anyone. My sister just got mad at someone and reported them. Then Yahoo advised her that ........

"Are you sure that you want to report this user? If you are in the habit of reporting other people you will lose your account for violating community guidelines."

Yahoo went on to say that ...... "violation notices are only sent if 2 or more people report the same question or answer"

(You may have already known the above Yahoo changes, but it was news to me. )

So my question is ..... Do you believe things will get better in regards to unfair reporting and unfair suspensions of our accounts?

While on the subject, may I ask you one other question? Who do you know that has had their account suspended and should have their account reinstated?

(I realize this is a terrible question cause we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Maybe we can keep updating the list. Forgive me but I will start: I feel the following should have their (original) accounts reinstated:Acid Zebra, Me Thrice, Dude, Pangel, Laptop Jesus, Ramjet, Moon, Jack B, Godzilla, Avatard, -- I will think of more later.

it's late and I am old man. Do you forgive me for my typos: Added to the list is Atheist Valtor. and Atheist Eye Candy. -- and "Island Paradise", And Sean's original account which I can't remember the name. -

Most of these people had their accounts deleted not for any abusive language but simply because someone judged their purity and righteousness. It makes me sick when any of us think we can judge the purity or righteousness of another person. -- sorry for chatting.

It sounds like a move in the right direction. I just wish they would clear up the technical problims, like getting locked out of my Yahoo mail for hours at a time. I am also noting every ad that shows up on my screen when I ask a question. If we all threw a product referance in a question, without violating any rules of course, we would eventually be able to show sponsors the foolishness of trusting Yahoo's "targeted ads." {{{Wayne}}}

I'm not sure if it's good or not. People can have several accounts to report with, also they are still dealing with the IM'ing that the trolls use to keep in touch with. I haven't had a violation notice in awhile, but my old account (deleted) has had 2. Go figure.

very interesting though, that they are asking before the report takes. But as the above user said, if only 2 reports and it's still up, what then?

still waiting for this to resolve itself

Ilovve you lots ((((((uncle))))))

I have read all the answers to your question and not one of them mentioned anything like this!

Why not get rid of the entire {report a violation} thing? Why do we keep putting restrictions on freedom of speech? I've said this a thousand times.."If you don't like the heat stay out of the kitchen!" Everyone has a right to express themselves, why are people hung-up on that? Give a thumbs down if you don't like something someone said....what's so hard about that?

I have had more violation notices in the past 3 days than I get in a month or more, for very mild answers that are relevant to the question asked and not remotely in violation.

It is possible to create several id's in order to report the same person over and over.

To answer your question, given what I said, no I don't think things are going to get better, they appear to be deteriorating rapidly.

Just because you're paranoid... etc etc ;)

I think that it is a step in the right direction.
there is so much negative about the reporting system, that there does need to be some changes.
and I also think that they should take chatting off of their violation list. anything can be conscrewed as chatting.

I was not aware of the rule..that is good news...Now,one must have two Yahoo accounts to report someone...LOL

I wish 2 people would report my new avatar as offensive.. I really want a green X...I just do not like the color red...well maybe as a lipstick hue or on a Ford GT 5.4.

I think it's a step in the right direction. I think I Walk Funny, Fuzzy Squirrel, and Tragic Typos should be reinstated. I really miss Tragic. His questions cracked me up every time.

Dang, I can't give any more stars, today!! :(

I sure hope things will get better, but I'm not a believer...

Edit: I agree with all the names you mentioned, but I don't want to deal with this (trying to have my old account back) anymore. They already said "no" twice, and it's too much stress, I have many other things to take care of. All I want, now, is to move on. Again, I thank you, and all here, for the love and for the help :)

It's a step in the right direction. Being so sensitive that you can't read a truth or an untruth without going bananas, is a sad sign of one's mental instability.
