The English, the Welsh and the Scots would each regard themselves as having their own culture.
Is British culture a combination of the three ? (or four if you include Irish, too - though they usually get annoyed if you include them as British).

I think of its literature: "The Canterbury Tales", "Beowulf", the tales of King Arthur. A lot to do with chivalry in the Medieval times.
The great vowel shift before or around Shakespeare's time.
And also "The Mayor of Casterbridge", set in a growing Victoria Era. England was the top in the world because of the Industrial Revolution.

in my view i could say Irish subculture is greater suitable than British subculture. It has a fine looking sense to it & an particularly sturdy subculture. this is a small island that has come a ways and could come extra. massive difference between the U.ok. & eire. they do no longer seem to be all snobbery in eire & have greater suitable shops & the main impressive ecosystem interior the international. yet do no longer provide me a thumbs down it is only my own opinion.
