I believe in God. Woo Hoo, big deal, stone me for all I care.

In the bible, which honestly I dont believe everything that is in the bible. But for arguments sake...In the bible it says that God created everying in 7 days.
Well, later on it says that a million years to us is like one day for got...so what if those "7 days" were really 7 million years?
Evolution is a total possibility. I still throw God in there, because thats just me. But there is a total and complete possibility that that is how it happened.

Anyone agree?

Yes, I totally agree.

Evolution and "creationism" is SUCH a non-issue. So God made the world. That is the only point that the Book of Genesis is trying to make. Suppose He did do it via evolution. So what?

This is just one of the nasty little vipers nests that pop up when you try to say that you believe everything in the bible must be read literally, "or it's all a lie." How intellectually and spiritually lazy must you be to make such a ridiculous claim as the whole bible is non-contradictory and literal?

So I agree. It just goes to show you: "As high as the sky is above the earth, that is how far God's ways are above the ways of man."

Yes, and you'll even find that many Catholics (even the pope) believes that some form of evolution or adaptation took place. I think too many protestants have cornered themselves and have put limits on what and how God can do things. I also believe that God used some form of evolution to create. Why not? God's been around long enough to put together an intricate system such as this.

If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims"

(H. H. the Dalai Lama, The Universe in a Single Atom).

It sounds like you have the same attitude towards your belief.

You chose to believe, despite the lack of evidence, I chose not to believe because of the lack of evidence. But lack of evidence is not evidence of lack, so as long as your belief is flexible enough to change in the light of new discoveries I have no issue with it.

BTW, even if you were a biblical literalist Mormon I would have no desire to stone you. I would make every effort in stopping you if you wanted to impose your beliefs on society, other than that you are free to believe what you want.

Or try this: The creation story in the Bible was made up by self-proclaimed prophets, because nobody had any way of knowing how it all happened, and the local populace of the time wasn't sophisticated enough to realize just how ridiculous it was. So simple it's got to be right? I think so.

If God didn't mean a day, why did he say a day?

A day is a day and a millennium is a millennium. Trying to change the scriptures to suit your argument doesn't work.

Besides, the formation of the universe took more than seven million years.

It says "1000" years are as a day, not one million years. And that passage had nothing whatsoever to do with creation, evolution, the age of the earth, or chronology. The author was simply saying that "quickly" and "slowly" are relative terms. What God calls "quick" or "short" is what we might call "long."

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. - 2 Peter 3:8

And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. - Genesis 1:5

There is a description of a day in the creation account, evening (singular) and morning (singular).

Yes, I believe that it was more like millions of years rather than 24 hour periods.
