My driving instructor is selling her 2005 Clio. It has power steering, anti lock breaks and air con.
I wondered if it wouldnt be so good because of the hammering it takes from all the learners (including myself!!!!), but then i guess she does have to keep it in tip-top condition for business.
It would be nice to buy it as its what ive been learning in.
Not sure about the mileage.

What would be a good price, and good mileage??

Thanks :0)

You're right about driving school cars. They do take a lot of punishment, and often do over 20,000 miles a year. In town, with learners driving them. She should have kept it in good condition, but it would be good to see a new clutch in it. ( Cost £200-ish )
With average mileage for the year( 20,000 ), it would be worth about £4750, for every 10,000 over that figure, deduct maybe £350. I can see why you'd want the car you learnt in, but unless it's cheap, I'd go for a similar Clio which hasn't lead such a hard life!

Normal mileage is about 10,000 miles per year. A good price depends on what part of the World you're in.. Look in the paper for other 05 Clios and see what they're asking.

There are plenty of good clios around that are not expensive. you can expect a driving instructors car to have taken exceptional wear on the clutch and gearbox, another clio would be better for you

Compare it with other cars if your in the UK, heres a good website.

Normally learner drivers drive very slowly but the clutch and gears take a hammering. Id pay about £3500 at most.

Not sure of a price? Gear box and clutch will have been subject to serious miss use!! Clutch is an expectable replacement at somepoint but gearbox can be expensive??

Need some more details ... spec, options etc. Check out www.parkers.co.uk or glass guide online but the latter will cost you.

I think that it should be a price between 4,000 to 5,500 but it's just me so i am not sure if everyone else would choose this price!
