Not in any Christian denomination. That is a heretical view.

The God of the Old Testament (the Hebrew Scriptures) and the God of the New Testament (the Christian Greek Scriptures is one and the same.

It's possible some confuse Jehovah, the Almighty God (and yes that name is is many translations of the Bible) with his Son Jesus Christ, who is the subject of much of the writing in the Christian Greek Scriptures because we are to follow the example he set while he walked the earth.

Gnostics beleive this. They believe that an evil God (the Demi-Urge) created the earth in order to create suffering for those who live in it. They also connect this god to the God of the OT, who tended to be violent, unlike the God of the NT who was loving and compassionate.

The latter is the one that is to be worshiped and who will save the soul from suffering. He is also connected to Jesus, unlike the Demi-Urge.
