I was, I wouldn't, and yes I'm a hypocrite.

No way.

There are more than enough people out there that I don't know that I can give tickets too; I don't need to give one to the people I do know.

fel123:
There is a difference between being a hypocrite and using discretion. The black and white you refer to is the actual breaking of the law or committing a violation. There is in fact a gray area in the manner in which people are dealt with. I've let other people off with just a warning, so why wouldn't I let my mother?

You can sit there and try to tell me how to do my job and pretend you have all the answers, but nothing you say will affect me. I am still going to do my job the same exact way, and I will never give my mother a speeding ticket. If you don't want your mom to get a ticket, then you should become a police officer, although I seriously doubt you would make it. We need warriors, not whiners.

So say whatever you need to behind the safety and anonymity of the internet, because I know you would never say it to an officer in person.

LoL that's an awesome question! hahaha

I'd probably have my moms license suspended if she still drove her 1988 ford station wagon. She scared me as a child/teenager when she drove anywhere. I would literally hide. Now that she's driving a sub compact toyota yaris, i'd probably let her off with a warning. A tiny lil red car coming right at you cannot be as intimidating as a big wood paneled boat hahaha

Older people tug at my heart strings anyway. Unless they were a horrible menace on the road, I'd warn them to slow it down and take it easy.

I am not a cop. if there are cops on here stating that they would NOT give one to their mom, but WOULD give one to a civilian, then they can be summed up in one word:

HYPOCRITES

And they had better get their acts together.

And that's a fact jack! Facts are facts are facts.

Don't beleive me? look it up in the dictionary. Can't handle the truth? work on it.

Think of it this way: if you feel sorry for your OWN mom and would not punish her, how is it fair to punish SOMEONE ELSES mom??!!!

Sorry, I just abhor cop hypocrisy. I abhor brutal unfairness. This is not a dictatorship.

When it comes to them enforcing the law on civs it is black and white, the letter of the law, but when it comes to them it is all shades of gray now....I gotta call that stupid.

CGIV76: I appreciate you admitting it.
See, that is why civilians dislike cops so much. You guys gotta admit you do earn it.

I hate when cops whine about being disliked. Act in a manner that's likable and you will not be disliked. Very simple.
